Welcome Note

The Institute for Social Security of the Azores, I.P.R.A, abbreviated as ISSA, was created in 2014 after the merger of the Institute for Social Security of the Azores and the Social Security Financial Management Institute of the Azores.

It has as its mission the management of social security schemes, the recognition of rights and the compliance with social security contributions and benefits, with a view to guaranteeing the access of all citizens. This entity also aims to promote social and family cohesion, foster personal, social and local development, and ensure the protection of the most vulnerable groups, thus contributing to the prevention and fight against poverty and social exclusion in the Azores.

This is your space and your opinion is crucial for us to continue improving, growing and developing. Individual participation is a contribution to the common good.

The infection with COVID-19 poses new challenges for us all.

In this phase of contingency and to facilitate citizens' contact with the Institute for Social Security of the Azores by telephone, another line - 300 077 100 - has been created to clarify doubts on the exceptional and temporary measures relating to the epidemiological situation caused by the novel coronavirus.

To ensure a safer service and the timely provision of services to the public, the Social Security asks all citizens to avoid face-to-face services, favouring whenever possible non-face to face interactions with our services:
