DESCRIPTION:
The operation “E-Citizen Platform – Portal of the Government of the Azores” aims at developing and implementing an innovative IT platform, built using open-source technology, capable of sustaining the government of the Azores’ digital relationship with citizens and businesses, in the same way as today and in such a way as to ensure adaptability to future technological developments (‘future-proof’).
Today’s citizens and businesses expect from the public administration the same modern technologies and agile operations made available to them by private organisations. This challenge forces the public administration to rethink its digital relationship methods and processes, while inducing the reengineering of internal processes necessary for the new online positioning.
At the same time, the digital transformation of public administration is an essential ingredient for the region’s socio-economic success. These assumptions frame the project for the construction of the Platform.
RESULTS:
Making an innovative IT platform available online that:
- Improve the provision of public services;
- Is the main official online source for citizens for information on the Government of the Azores;
- Strengthens and optimises the existing technological capabilities and methods and processes and digital relations between the Government of the Azores and its audiences;
- Safeguard the history of online information from the Government of the Azores;
- Strengthens the basic conditions for the integration of the different processes and services of the Government of the Azores;
- Focus on reducing average times for administrative tasks;
- Increases the degree of satisfaction of the demands of users of the services offered;
- Promotes progress in the level of personalisation of services and the qualification of service channels;
- It boosts the development of active citizenship;
- It reflects the contemporaneity of the Azores and encourages participation in their development.
