Sandra Maria de Sousa Garcia was born on April 26, 1969.

Academic Qualifications
Degree in International Relations with a specialisation in Social and Political Sciences from the Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon.

Professional Experience

  • Senior Technician at the Culture and Social Affairs Unit of the Angra do Heroísmo City Council staff;
  • President of the Board of GRATER - Regional Development Association;
  • Member of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores in the VI Legislative Term, having been a member of the Committees on Youth and Education;
  • Editor-in-Chief of the "A União" newspaper;
  • Coordinator for Culture and Head of Section of the Culture and Promotion Unit of the Angra do Heroísmo Municipality;
  • Co-author of the book “Angra, cidade Transatlântica”;
  • Member of the Angra do Heroísmo Municipal Assembly;
  • Regional Under Director at the Regional Directorate for Culture of the Regional Secretariat for Culture, Science and Digital Transition between 2021 and 2022;
  • Councillor of Angra do Heroísmo City Council.
