Sandra Paula Gomes e Silva Regional Director for the Promotion of Equality and Social Inclusion
Biographical Note

Born in Angra do Heroísmo, on the island of Terceira, on April 18, 1971.

Holds a degree in Social Policy with a specialization in Social Protection and Security from the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas, 1996 (then part of the Technical University of Lisbon, now University of Lisbon). Postgraduate in Legal Issues of Drugs and Drug Addiction from the Faculty of Lisbon (2003) and in Drug Addiction and Social Intervention from the Instituto Superior de Serviço Social de Lisboa (2004).

She served as a Senior Social Service Technician at Casa de Saúde de São Rafael since 1998 and was a member of the team implementing the Quality Certification process and co-founder of the Association of Relatives and Friends of the Users of Casa de Saúde de São Rafael.

He was a member of the Commission for the Deterrence of Drug Addiction of Angra do Heroísmo, between 2001 and 2013, of the Teams of the Regional Projects “Primary Prevention of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs” and “Awareness for Alcoholism Treatment,” in 2002-2003, and of the Team for the Preparation of the Regional Plan for Health Promotion and Drug Addiction Prevention for the Azores Region, in 2005, at the Regional Health Secretariat.

He served as a Board Member of the Mission Structure for the Promotion of Social Responses for the Elderly and of the Regional Monitoring Team of the New Elderly Program, at the Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores, in 2022.

He has held, since 2024, the position of Regional Director at the Regional Directorate for the Promotion of Equality and Social Inclusion.
