Regional Secretariat for Finance, Planning and Public Administration

The organisational structure of the XIII Regional Government of the Azores, approved by the Regional Implementing Decree no. 28/2020/A of December 10, 2020, reflects the decisions taken for the governance of the Azores, namely the strategic guidelines based on the public policies pursued by the XIII Regional Government.

It defines the competences of the departments of the XIII Regional Government of the Azores, with particular reference to Article 9, which defines the competences of the Regional Secretary for Finance, Planning and Public Administration: 

Article 9

Competences of the Regional Secretary for Finance, Planning and Public Administration

The Regional Secretary for Finance, Planning and Public Administration is responsible for the following areas:

a) Regional development and cohesion;

b) Budget and public accounting;

c) Finance and assets;

d) Taxes;

e) Treasury;

f) Credit and insurance;

g) Planning;

h) Global management of European funds;

i) Regional public business sector;

j) Promotion of entrepreneurship, competitiveness and business innovation;

k) Promotion of exports;

l) Venture capital;

m) Promotion of private investment;

n) Regional public administration;

o) Statistics;

p) Administrative inspection;

q) Administrative modernisation;

r) Administrative Policies for the Autonomous Region of the Azores

Furthermore, the Regional Implementing Decree no. 28/2020/A of December 10, 2020, stipulates that the Regional Secretariat for Finance, Planning and Public Administration shall be headquartered in the city of Ponta Delgada.
