Biographical Note
Pedro Garcia Monteiro Paes holds a degree in Nursing with a specialisation in Medical-Surgical Nursing and a postgraduate degree in Health Services Management.
Professional Experience
- Level 1 nurse at the São Rafael mental institution (2004);
- Level 1 Nurse at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island, E.P.E.R. (since 2006).
Other relevant activities
- Collaboration in the management of the Emergency Service, replacing the head nurse in the period from August 16 to September 17, 2010;
- Replacement of the Head Nurse of the Air Evacuation Unit, during absences and impediments, since January 2014;
- Collaboration in the creation of the Assistance Areas - Area Dedicated to Covid (ADC)and Areas Dedicated to Patients with Acute Respiratory Infection (ADR) in the Emergency Service;
- Collaboration in the integration of new nursing staff members in the Emergency Service;
- Collaboration in the integration of new nursing staff members in the Immediate Life Support (SIV) Unit;
- Coordination of nursing teams in the Emergency Service since 2015;
- As part of the accreditation process of the training certification of the Emergency Service by the Portuguese Nursing Association, he was appointed coordinator and auditor of the working conditions of nurses in the Emergency Service, at a meeting of the Board of Directors on April 8, 2021;
- Appointment as Assistant to the Nurse Director by the Board of Directors, taking effect on January 12, 2022;
- Appointment by the Board of Directors at the meeting held on January 26, 2022, to join the Committee for the Standardisation of Clinical Consumables and Medical Devices of the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island, EPER;
- Replacement of the Nurse Director, during his absence, in the period from August 22, 2022, to September 2, 2022.
Training
- Completion of the Manchester Triage Trainers/Auditors Course, taught at Fernando da Fonseca Hospital by the Portuguese Triage Group, on November 9, 2012.
