Competences:
1 - The Regional Directorate for Youth has the following responsibilities:
a) Assist and support the Regional Secretary in defining and implementing youth policies;
b) Implement regional and inter-sectoral coordination mechanisms for youth policies;
c) Participate in preliminary studies, preparation or reformulation of legislation in its area of competence;
d) Promote the creation of information, care and counselling systems for young people and their associations;
e) Consult social partners and other entities involved in youth policies;
f) Establish and maintain mobility and exchange programmes for young people;
g) Analyse requests and grant the support provided for by law;
h) Support youth and student associations;
i) Promote and support youth volunteering;
j) Develop occupational and free-time occupation programmes for young people;
k) Draw up and develop programmes and actions aimed at promoting citizenship and civic participation of young people.
2 - The Regional Directorate for Youth provides logistical and technical support to the Regional Youth Centre (CRJ).
