
The FLAVOR project - acronym for “Regional Food Culture as a Driver for Integrated Rural Development” - is an initiative under INTERREG EUROPE, under the Priority “Europe for Citizens” (policy objective 5) and code 03C0707.
FLAVOR's mission is to make regional food culture a vehicle for responding to the socio-economic problems of its regions, such as low economic development, an ageing population and stagnating employment opportunities.
The FLAVOR project consists of 11 partners from Austria, Luxembourg, Hungary, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Albania, Lithuania and Switzerland.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Economic development: Support farmers, producers and SMEs in agri-food and hotel value chains to build their businesses on authentic and high-quality regional food products and experiences.
- Sustainability and climate resilience: Promote sustainable and organic agriculture and "0km food", to protect landscapes and biodiversity, and reduce the CO2 footprint of food consumption at regional level.
- Health and well-being: Educate communities on healthy consumption patterns based on fresh and healthy food.
- Social cohesion: Bringing together rural communities and producers around regional food culture.
