The Digital Islands project is a European initiative involving nine partners from various island regions, including the Azores, with the aim of promoting the digital transition in these territories.
The aim is to harness digital technologies to respond to the specific challenges of islands, such as isolation, dependence on the outside world and economic constraints.
Through this project, it seeks to improve public services, boost the digital economy, encourage new activities and increase the quality of life of populations.
At the same time, cooperation between European islands and the sharing of best practices are promoted, strengthening their autonomy, resilience and development capacity.
