On 25 May 2018, the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), approved by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union of 27 April, laid down the rules relating to the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, entered into force.
The GDPR introduces a set of new rules, including the obligation to designate a data protection officer, amending the rules on obtaining consent, the deletion of notifications and authorisations, the implementation of the right to forget, the introduction of very high value fines and information obligations regarding security breaches.
Thus, in accordance with Article 37(6) (a) and (1) of the GDPR, the Office of the Regional Undersecretary and dependent services designated as data protection officer Raquel Cordeiro de Amaral Câmara, in accordance with Order No 1916/2023 of 19 October.
