The Estagiar Europe Programme was established by Resolution of the Council of Government No 101/2017 of 13 October 2017.
Persons who, cumulatively not more than 30 years of age at the start of the traineeship, have completed secondary education or university education in the Region and hold a bachelor, master’s or doctoral degree, may apply for the Trainear Europe Programme.
The aim of this programme is to create the conditions for young graduates, masters or doctoral graduates to acquire practical knowledge in the real context of work in European institutions, in particular by benefiting from regional, interregional or community structures, as well as in departments or services of the Regional Government of the Azores in the European Union outside the national territory.
The Estagiar Europe Programme pursues the following objectives:
- Promote, among young people, greater knowledge of the organisation and functioning of the European Union, in particular its main institutions and bodies, as well as other European cooperation bodies;
- Strengthen the socio-professional skills of young graduates, masters or doctoral graduates, in particular in the context of European themes and decision-making processes;
- Increase the recruitment and integration in the European institutions and bodies of senior management with a relevant knowledge of the Region, thereby promoting the visibility and presence of the economic, social and territorial reality of the Azores abroad;
- Represent the Region through European and international cooperation services, defending regional interests in various areas of foreign policy.
