Ana Cristina Pereira Rodrigues Regional Director for the Environment and Climate Action
Biographical Note

Born in Lisbon on February 8, 1976.

She graduated in Environmental Engineering at the University of Aveiro and Management at the University of the Azores. She holds a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University in partnership with the University of Delft-UNESCO and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Landscape Management from the University of the Azores in conjunction with the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (School of Agriculture) of the University of Lisbon and the University of Évora.  She completed several courses, namely in the area of Renewable Energies at the University of Salzburg, Environmental Economics at the University of the Azores, and Environmental and Quality Management Systems at the University of Aberystwyth. 

She has also worked for several private entities in the area of water and wastewater treatment (2004-2007) and as coordinator of Quality and Environmental Management Systems (2013-2020). She has conducted research, taken part in the development of various studies and assisted teaching at the University of the Azores in the fields of regional development and the economy of the environment and natural resources in the Azores (2009-2020).  She was Manager of the LIFE IP CLIMAZ Project, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change (2020-2021) and Regional Director for the Environment and Climate Change of the XIII Government of the Azores (2021-2024).

Since April 11, 2024, she has been the Regional Director for the Environment and Climate Action of the XIV Government of the Azores.
