Ana Cristina Pereira Rodrigues Regional Director for the Environment and Climate Change
Biographical Note

Ana Cristina Pereira Rodrigues was born in February 1976. She graduated in Management from the University of the Azores and in Environmental Engineering from the University of Aveiro.  She holds a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences - minor in environmental technologies (from the University of Wageningen in partnership with the University of Delft-UNESCO) and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Landscape Management from the University of the Azores.

She has completed several courses, namely in the area of Renewable Energies at the University of Salzburg, Environmental Economics at the University of the Azores, and Environmental and Quality Management Systems at the University of Aberystwyth. She also holds a postgraduate degree in Soil and Plant Analysis and Laboratory Data Processing from the University of Wageningen.

She has participated in the development of several studies and economic evaluations on strategic activities related to the environment and natural resources of the Azores, such as the Green Islands project with MIT Portugal.

She has conducted research at the University of the Azores in the area of Environmental Economics and assisted in the teaching of the courses "Cost-Benefit Analysis"; "Introduction to Economics"; "Energy Economics"; "Economics of Natural Resources" and "Economics and Regional Development" at the University of the Azores.  She has supervised students in the development of projects under the Environmental Engineering and Nature Guide degree programmes as well as students in the Nature Conservation and Management Master's degree programme.  

She has also worked for several private entities as  coordinator of Quality and Environmental Management Systems and as Product Manager in the area of water treatment and wastewater treatment.
