Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government

The organisational structure of the XIII Regional Government of the Azores, approved by Regional Regulatory Decree No 28/2020/A of 10 December 2020, reflects the choices made for the governance of the Azores, in particular by expressing the strategic guidelines based on the public policies of the XIII Regional Government.

It defines the competences of the departments of the XIII Regional Government of the Azores, and in particular, in Article 8, the powers of the Vice-President of the Regional Government:

Powers of the Vice-President of the Regional Government

The Vice-President of the Regional Government shall exercise his powers in the following areas:

(a) solidarity and social security;

(b) equality and social inclusion;

(c) housing;

(D) cooperation with local authorities;

(e) Communities, emigration and immigration;

(f) electoral matters;

(g) Lajes Civil Aerogare.

Similarly, Regional Regulatory Decree No 28/2020/A of 10 December 2020 provides that, in the absence and impediment of the President of the Regional Government, he is to be replaced by the Vice-President of the Regional Government or by the Regional Secretary he wishes to indicate. The Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government is based in the city of Angra do Heroísmo.
