Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing and Employment

The organisational structure of the XIII Regional Government of the Azores, approved by the Regional Implementing Decree no. 28/2020/A of December 10, 2020, reflects the decisions taken for the governance of the Azores, namely the strategic guidelines based on the public policies pursued by the XIII Regional Government.

It defines the competences of the departments of the XIII Regional Government of the Azores, with particular reference to Article 17, which defines the competences of the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Vocational Training and Employment:

The Regional Secretary for Regional Secretariat for Youth, Vocational Training and Employment is responsible for the following areas:

a) Youth;

b) Active employment policies;

c) Policies aimed at professional enhancement and reduction of insecure employment;

d) Labour, vocational training and conversion of human resources;

e) Competition and consumer protection;

f) Trade, industry and handicrafts;

g) Economic activity and labour inspections.

Furthermore, the Regional Implementing Decree no. 28/2020/A of December 10, 2020, stipulates that the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Vocational Training and Employment shall be headquartered in the city of Ponta Delgada.
