Operated by Edisoft, this cluster of space-based infrastructure includes, inter alia:

ESA station — the 5.5 m antenna currently carrying out screening of French Guiana launchers was the first station of the European Space Agency (ESA) on Portuguese territory and one of the first stations in the network of ESTRACK stations with the capability to screen launchers. The support infrastructure (building, energy and website) is the Autonomous Region of the Azores, with an operating concession to ESA, which in turn subcontracts the operation of services to Edisoft.

Galileo Sensor Station of the European Space Agency (ESA) — One of the ground segment elements of the European Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) used to receive the space signal — SIS — sent by satellites. Galileo is a programme funded by the European Commission and delegated to the European Space Agency (ESA), with an operational lifetime of at least 20 years. In 2012, the European Space Agency (ESA) awarded Edisoft the installation of a new Galileo Sensor Station (GSS) station in Santa Maria. The support of the Regional Government of the Azores for this project consisted of the transfer of the land on which the Galileo station is located.

EUMETSAT station — meteorological station, located on land transferred by the Government of the Azores on the island of Santa Maria to Edisoft, a company operating it, thus integrating the thermal infrastructure of the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) to support the operation of European meteorological satellites.
