The Association RAEGE Azores — the Atlantic Network of Geographical and Space Stations (RAEGE-Az) is a non-profit, scientific, technological and training private law association between the Regional Government of the Azores and SATA Air Açores, set up on 20/07/2017 with the following objectives:
a) manage, administer and coordinate all scientific and technical activities to be carried out in the key geodetic stations of the REDE ATLÂNTICA OF Geodynamic AND ESPACIAIS STATES in the Autonomous Region of the Azores and its basic centres.
(b) develop scientific research leading to the acquisition of new knowledge, products, processes and services in its fields of intervention;
(c) to promote and support research and development (R & D) in its fields of activity;
(d) strengthen the collaboration and link between their associates and between them and the scientific community, the business fabric and the economic and social sector;
(e) to enhance cooperation with other entities by establishing national or international partnerships around common objectives and for the development of scientific and technological poles in their field of action;
(f) co-ordinate, promote and participate in scientific and technological studies, projects and programmes (
g) to support innovation, creation and development of enterprises producing goods and services in the fields of its intervention;
(h) promote and coordinate courses and training activities aimed at the development and specialisation of scientific and technical, national and foreign frameworks;
(I) supporting local institutions in pursuing and promoting science and technology policies;
(j) to provide services to natural and legal persons, public or private, in their areas of intervention;
(K) promoting the registration and exploitation of patents;
(L) participate in national and international calls for tenders which are carried out within the scope of the activities which are the subject matter of the call for tenders;
(m) identify and select sources of funding for the scientific and technical activity of its associates;
(N) exchanging and disseminating technical and scientific information;
(o) the management, administration and coordination of infrastructures which may contribute to the promotion of research and development activities in the field of space technologies or other technologies integrated in their fields of activity.

RAEGE-Az is the entity representing the Autonomous Region of the Azores at the General Assembly of the Portuguese Space Agency — Portugal Space — as set out in Government Council Resolution No 30/2019 of 14 March 2012.
