Law degree with a specialisation on Legal Sciences from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon on July 13, 1983.
Additional Qualifications
Postgraduate Studies in Labour Law - Labour Law at the Labour Law Institute of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and the University of the Azores, Department of Management, February to July 2004.

- Senior Technician at the Regional Secretariat for Labour between October 1, 1983, and March 22, 1987.
- Labour inspector since March 1987, currently holding the position of Senior Chief Inspector.

Regional Labour Inspectorate
- He was appointed, on secondment, as Regional Labour Sub-Inspector from March 24, 1987, and April 18, 1990;
- He was appointed, on secondment, to the position of Labour Inspector (Director of Services) of the Regional Labour Inspectorate on April 19, 1990, having remained in this position until March 25, 1994;
- He held the position of Head of Section of the Occupational Hygiene, Safety and Health Office from February 1, 2005, to June 30, 2008;
- He was appointed, on secondment, as Delegate Inspector of the Regional Labour Inspection -Ponta Delgada Inspection Services from July 1, 2008 to December 21, 2020;
- He was appointed, on secondment, as Regional Labour Inspector from December 22, 2020, to the present date.

- He was appointed, on secondment, to the position of Regional Inspector of Economic Activities in the period between March 1994 and December 1996.
