Biographical Note

Mafalda Almeida de Melo Cabral was born in São José - Ponta Delgada.

Academic qualifications

  • Law degree (2005) from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (New University of Lisbon);
  • Postgraduate degree in Labour and Social Security Law from the same university (2006);
  • Postgraduate course in Occupational Health and Safety at APRODAZ Vocational Training School (2011/2012), which confers upon her the Senior Occupational Health and Safety Technician - level VI certification.

Professional experience

  • Legal traineeship at the Azores District Council of the Portuguese Bar Association (Bar Registration no. 45572 A). Currently, her membership has been suspended, at her request, since February 1, 2012;
  • Legal practice between 2005 and 2011 in several areas, namely Labour, Family, Criminal, Tax, Administrative and Civil law;
  • By order of the Regional Director for Labour and Vocational Training, dated September 1, 2011, she signed an employment contract of indefinite duration to carry out duties as a Senior Technician (area of Law) at the Ponta Delgada Inspection Service of the Regional Labour Inspectorate - Regional Directorate for Labour and Vocational Training, with effect from September 1, 2011;
  • By order of the Regional Labour Inspector, dated June 30, 2014, she was appointed trainee inspector in the senior inspector career of the São Miguel Island staff assigned to the Regional Labour Inspectorate, with effect from July 1, 2014;
  • By order of the Regional Labour Inspector, dated July 1, 2015, she was appointed on a permanent basis to the position of Inspector in the senior inspector career of the Regional Labour Inspectorate - São Miguel Island, with effect from July 1, 2015;
  • By order of the Regional Labour Inspector, dated March 14, 2019, she was promoted to the position of Chief Inspector, with effect from March 15, 2019.
  • By joint Order of the President of the Regional Government of the Azores and the Regional Secretary for Youth, Vocational Training and Employment, she was appointed Regional Inspector of Economic Activities on December 22, 2020.
