Joana Ferreira Rita holds a Master's degree in Economics and Business Sciences (MCEE) with a specialisation in Finance (University of the Azores, 2013). She received her degree in Management from the University of the Azores in 2010.
She also attended the Basic Cycle of the medical degree programme (2004-2007).
She has held a managing position at EDA (regional electricity company) since 2011, carrying out the following duties:
Head of the Department of Logistics and Warehouses at the Procurement Directorate (July 2018 to December 2020);
Management Control (July 2015 to June 2018) with Planning and Management Support responsibilities, having as main activities the Budget, Financial and Accounting Control of the Directorate General of Energy Exploration - Production and Distribution;
Management Control (October 2011 to June 2015) with Planning and Management Support responsibilities, having as main activities the Budget, Financial and Accounting Control of the Directorate of Energy Production and Exploration;
She was a Guest Lecturer at the University of the Azores from February to May 2011, having taught Quantitative Methods Discipline as part of the postgraduate programme in Training Management.
