Office of Representation of the Autonomous Region of the Azores in Brussels
An extension of the nine islands of the archipelago in central Europe
Government Council Resolution No 45/2017 of 26 May 2017 established a mission structure to implement the Representation Office of the Autonomous Region of the Azores in Brussels.
With the creation of this office, the aim is to strengthen the capacity of the Azores to intervene in defending their interests by bringing them closer to the main institutions, bodies, offices and agencies of the European Union, other entities, in particular interregional cooperation bodies, public and private institutions and representations of States and Regions based in Brussels, by stepping up the action of the Government of the Azores towards the EU in defending the outermost regions, the productive sectors and the specific characteristics of the region.
