The Government Council Resolution no. 45/2017 of May 26, 2017, created a mission structure for the establishment of the Representation Office of the Autonomous Region of the Azores in Brussels.
The establishment of this Office intends to strengthen the Azores’s intervention capacity in the defence of their interests through closer interaction with the European Union’s main institutions, bodies and agencies as well as with other entities, namely interregional cooperation bodies, public and private institutions and representation offices of States and Regions in Brussels. This entity also aims to reinforce the role of the Regional Government with the EU in the defence of Outermost Regions, productive sectors and the Region's specificities.
