Heraldic Symbols
The heraldic symbols of the Azores are the Flag, the Coat of Arms, and the Seal. These symbols are protected under the Regional Legislative Decree No. 21/2006 / A of 7 June, which established the legal regime for the heraldic symbols of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
The use of these symbols for commercial or advertising purposes of a commercial nature depends on authorization from the Regional Government. The use of the Region's anthem for advertising purposes of a commercial nature is prohibited.
To use the symbols of the Region, it is necessary to obtain authorization from the Presidency of the Regional Government, which can be requested by filling in a specific form, approved by the Ordinance of the President of the Regional Government No. 62/2006, of 13 July.
