New platform puts JORAA at the forefront of official journals

The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs, signed today a service provision contract with GLOBALEDA for the design, construction and implementation of the editing and publishing platform of the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of the Azores (JORAA).

The contract has a base price of about 75 thousand Euros and a completion period of 231 days.

The new JORAA platform will guarantee the improvement of conditions for access to support services, adapting itself to the current needs of using information technologies, both internally and in the relation with citizens and companies.

Accordingly, the new editing and publishing platform of JORAA will feature a public access portal, a platform for editing and submitting legal acts and a mobile application (app), designated as JORAA, for the consultation of legislation to be used in the most common mobile technology platforms, namely IOS, Android and Windows.

The platform to be now developed makes exclusive use of open source technology and will enable the submission of legal acts by entities external to JORAA through intuitive forms, the viewing of payment information integrated with RIAC and the verification of the status of publications.

Other more specific features concern the management of the profile of users and entities, the publication of notifications, the viewing of publications or the provision of documents in a final version and presented chronologically, the use of a digital marker and post-it, the possibility sharing highlight or notes with all accredited users, the smart recommendation of important texts and text-to-speech accessibility.

Another aspect to be highlighted is the new search engine with new features, namely by full text, by word or set of words, by type and number of legal act, by date, by series or by issuing entity, which also provides the possibility of crossing different types of search.

With the creation of this new JORAA platform, the Government of the Azores is, once again, at the forefront of innovation at the level of official journals.

For the Government of the Azores, information technologies are a key pillar for the provision of quality services to citizens and companies, as well as for the proper functioning of institutions.
