Flávio Gomes Borges Tiago Regional Director
Biographical Note

Flávio Gomes Borges Tiago was born on September 18, 1975.

He graduated in Economics at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Coimbra, followed by an MBA from the University of the Azores.  He pursued his studies at the same university, earning his PhD in Economics and Business Sciences.

In 2019, he received his aggregatation from ISEG-Lisbon School of Economics and Management.
He is an Associate Professor with Aggregation at the University of the Azores, President of the General Assembly of NONAGON - São Miguel Science and Technology Park and Member of the General Assembly of PCTTER - Terceira Island Science and Technology Park Association.  He is a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of the Atlantic International Research Centre (AIR Centre).

Appointment (order)

Between 2018 and 2021, he chaired the Board of the Azores Regional Office of the Portuguese Economists' Association. Previously, from 2012 to 2015, he served as President of the founding Board of Directors of NONAGON, the first Science and Technology Park of the Autonomous Region of the Azores. 

He was also the Director of the Master's degree programme in Economics and Business Sciences and the Director of the Business Management and Economics degree programmes at the University of the Azores in different periods between 2011 and 2022.  
Since 2016, he has been a researcher at ADVANCE/ISEG at the University of Lisbon and CEEAplA-A/UAc-Centre of Applied Economics Studies of  the Atlantic.
