Born in São José - Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island, on July 17, 1976.
Degree in Mathematics (teaching specialisation) from the University of the Azores and a postgraduate degree in School Administration and Organisation from the same higher education institution.
She was a union leader for the Teachers' Democratic Union of the Azores (2004-2014), serving as its President in the years 2010-2014. As part of her union duties, she was the Vice-President of UGT-Açores (2010-2014), a Member of the National Secretariat of the National Education Federation (2005-2014), a member of the Regional Advisory Committee on Women's Rights (2007-2010) and a member of the Regional Strategic Coordination Council of the Autonomous Region of the Azores (2010-2014).
She was a Member of the European Parliament (2014-2019), a Member of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores (2019-2020) and Regional Secretary for Education and Cultural Affairs of the XIII Government of the Azores (2020-2024).
As a secondary school teacher, she worked in several schools throughout the region from September 1999 to August 2005.
Since March 4, 2024, she has been the Regional Secretary for Education, Culture and Sport of the XIV Government of the Azores.
