Protocol with University of the Azores (UA)
A Cooperation Protocol was concluded in 2004 between the University of the Azores (UA) and the Regional Secretariat for Science Technology and Equipment (SRCTE) on that date, called the Regional Secretariat for Housing and Equipment, with the aim of enhancing and exploiting cooperation in the various activities carried out by the two institutions, particularly in the fields of education and scientific research.
Four types of actions to be carried out under this cooperation have been defined:
• Information (keep the knowledge of the two institutions up to date);
• pedagogical (providing academic training for teachers, learners and research and technical staff);
• Specialisation (valorisation of teaching, researcher and technical staff);
• Research (joint execution of research).
The coordinating committee, composed of two members from each institution and appointed for renewable periods of two years, is responsible for managing the protocol and there will also be specific committees for each action to be developed which will aim at planning relations between the two institutions and for each specific action.
Arrangement with the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC)
A Cooperation Agreement was concluded in 1980 between the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC) and the Regional Secretariat for Science Technology and Equipment (SRCTE) on that date, called the Regional Secretariat for Social Equipment, with the aim of maximising and exploiting the potential of the various activities carried out by the two institutions.
Three types of actions to be carried out under this cooperation
have been defined:
• Consultancy and technical support (support and advice on all technical problems encountered within your field of action);
• Documentation (Information on meetings and events, support for the organisation of documentation centres and submission of all LNEC publications in the areas of interest);
• management training (implementation of vocational promotion courses and technical training, training and further development of LREC technical staff).
Under the existing Cooperation Arrangement, in addition to collaboration in the field of seismic engineering and timber structures, LNEC has been supported in the fields of construction materials and metrology.
Protocol on cooperation with the Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory of the Autonomous Region of Madeira
Whereas the Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory of the Autonomous Region of the Azores (LREC/A) and the Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (LREC/M) share the same field of activity, developing research and providing services that can and should be complemented and optimised through mutual cooperation, a Cooperation Protocol was concluded in 2016 between the Government of the Autonomous Region of the Azores and the Government of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, it establishes the forms of cooperation between the Government of the Autonomous Region of the Azores and the Government of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, through its civil engineering laboratories, the main objective of which is to exploit the technical potential of both parties through exchanges, training, the study of endogenous materials and the dissemination and sharing of scientific and technological knowledge.
