Entity for the Regulation of Water and Waste Services of the Azores

The Entity for the Regulation of Water and Waste Services of the Azores (ERSARA) is a legal entity under public law endowed with legal personality as well as with administrative and financial autonomy. This entity is under the authority and supervision of the Regional Government department responsible for the environment. ERSARA has as its mission the regulation of the water and waste sectors, being responsible for regulating and monitoring the public supply of water for human consumption, urban wastewater and waste. It also exercises supervisory and quality control powers over water for human consumption.
