Biographical Note

Appointment (order)

She was born in the parish of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, Angra do Heroísmo.

 She holds a degree in International Relations with a specialisation in Social and Political Sciences from the Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon.

She is a Senior Technician at the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Angra do Heroísmo City Council.

She served as President of the Board of GRATER - Association for Regional Development.

She was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores in the VI Legislature, having been a member of the Committees on Youth and Education.  

She was Editor-in-Chief of the "a União" newspaper.  

She headed the Culture and Promotion Section of the Angra do Heroísmo City Council.  

She is the co-author of the book "Angra, Cidade Transatlântica."

She was a member of the Angra do Heroísmo Municipal Assembly. 

She was a member of several committees for the Sanjoaninas festivities and was their General Coordinator in 2013. 

She was a columnist for the "a União" and "Açoriano Oriental" newspapers and for the RTP-Açores website.  

She was also a panellist for the "Política de Saltos Altos" programme on Rádio Clube de Angra. 

In 2020, she worked as a Senior Specialist Technician for Cultural Affairs in the Cabinet of the Regional Secretary for Culture, Science and Digital Transition.

From July 2021 to May 2022, she served as Regional Assistant Director for Culture.  Since 2021, she has been a member of the Angra do Heroísmo City Council for the PSD-CDS-PPM Coalition.

On May 1, 2022, she has was appointed Regional Director for the Promotion of Equality and Social Inclusion.

She was appointed representative of the Regional Government of the Azores on the National Commission for Human Rights - Dialogue between Portugal and Human Rights Treaty Bodies for the United Nations from February 24, 2023, to April 11, 2024.

She was appointed representative of the Regional Government of the Azores on the Commission for Equality and Against Racial Discrimination from April 17, 2023, to April 11, 2024.

Since April 12, 2024, she has been the Regional Director for Culture.
