Academic qualifications

  • Degree in Graphic Design from IADE - Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication, Lisbon.
  • Master's degree in Illustration/Animation from Kingston University, London.
  • Doctoral student (final year) enrolled in the "Technology Enhanced Learning & Societal Challenges" programme at the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon.
  • Certified trainer by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuing Education in the following areas: C05, Specific Didactics (Visual Arts Education); 
  • C15, Educational Technologies (IT/Computer Science Application); C16, Educational Technologies (Audiovisual Media).
  • Certificate in 3D Animation, Digital Effects and Game Design from Think Tank Training Centre, Vancouver.
  • Certificate in Unity 3D Game Design from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, São Paulo.

Professional Experience

  • He is a tenured teacher at Manuel de Arriaga Secondary School (Visual Arts Group), where he taught from 1995 to 2009. He coordinated the School Arts and Multimedia Centre (CAME) as well as the school website. He was also a member of the coordination team for the "Arauto" newspaper.
  • Since 2016, he has been working at the Regional Directorate for Education of the Azores, where he coordinates the Open Digital Educational Resources (REDA) platform and the TOPA project.
  • Between 2016 and 2017, he served as a mentor and coordinator of the Anima 3D project and has conducted training initiatives in the Azores as part of the Apps For Good project since 2019.
  • Between 2010 and 2016, he worked as a 3D animator in several animation studios located in Canada, USA, Czech Republic and Brazil.
