Director of the Cartography and Geographic Information Service from March 2008 to November 2009;
Coordinator of the Cartograf Project in the Azores region under the Community Programme designated as INTERREG III-B MAC (Madeira, Azores, Canary Islands) from 2004 to 2008, with the project being led by the Government of the Canary Islands;
Coordinator of the "Regional Meeting on Cartography and Geographic Information Systems," held on the island of Pico on October 9 and 10, 2002, with the support of the Regional Section of the Portuguese Engineers' Association;
Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Sciences, Technology and Development of the University of the Azores, having taught practical classes in the field of Topography under the Engineering Preparatory Studies from 1996 to 2004;
Visiting Lecturer at the Geography Section of the University of the Azores, having the Cartography module as part of the Spatial Planning and Territorial Management course under the Environmental Biology degree programme in 1997;
