Azores brand represented for the first time at Estremoz International Agrocultural Fair - Communication

Azorean products are represented for the first time at the Estremoz International Agricultural Fair (FIAPE), which takes place until Sunday at the municipality's Fair and Exhibition Centre.

In this 36th edition, the Azores will have an institutional stand, where cheeses and wines produced on various islands of the archipelago and labelled with the Azores brand will be on display.

For the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Food, "having the Autonomous Region of the Azores represented in the promotion and economic enhancement of its products is an honour and an excellent opportunity to exhibit and market Azorean products, taking into account the thousands of visitors attending the event every year."

"The Azorean Government regards the Azores Brand as one of the driving forces for the internal and external promotion of the Region," says António Ventura.

He continues: "the identification of the Region through a brand synonymous with quality, which differentiates products based on the most distinctive features of the Azores, such as nature, high environmental value, diversity and natural exclusivity, is of paramount importance to the success of a strategy for accessing and securing the loyalty of markets, creating added value for Azorean products and services and boosting exports."

At the opening of the event, the mayor of Estremoz, José Manuel Sádio, considered the initiative of the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Food to be "of paramount importance," both for the attraction of the archipelago of the Azores for the population of Alentejo and for the "opportunity to establish a path of cooperation between the two regions, endowed with great agricultural potential."

The Estremoz International Agricultural Fair is an initiative organised by the Estremoz City Council and ACORE - the Estremoz Region Sheep Breeders' Association, and is one of the largest of its kind in the Alentejo.

In addition to exhibitions and livestock competitions, it also features displays of economic activities and musical performances.
