Last 24 hours:   

81 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 54 on the island of São Miguel, 17 on the island of Terceira, four on the island of Faial, four on the island of Pico and two on the island of São Jorge, following 297 tests carried out.  

Municipalities:   

São Miguel Island- 30 in Ponta Delgada, seven in Nordeste, seven in Lagoa, five in Ribeira Grande and three in Vila Franca do Campo. 

Terceira Island - 13 in Praia da Vitória and four in Angra do Heroísmo.  

Faial Island - four in Horta.   

Pico Island - two in Madalena, one in Lajes and one in São Roque. 

São Jorge Island – one in Velas and one in Calheta. 

Recoveries:   

A total of 282 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.

Hospitalisations:   

As of today, there are 16 patients hospitalised, eight of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel, five at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island and three at the Horta Hospital on the island of Faial   

Current situation:   

The archipelago currently registers 1,679 active positive cases: 818 on the island of São Miguel, 503 on the island of Terceira, 123 on the island of Faial, 113 on the island of São Jorge, 55 on the island of Pico, 38 on the island of Flores, 20 on the island of Santa Maria and nine on the island of Graciosa. 

Death: 

The death of a 77-year-old woman was reported at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island. She had been hospitalised since March 7 and had been vaccinated with the booster dose. She resided in the parish of Porto Judeu, municipality of Angra do Heroísmo. 

Vaccination:       
 
From December 31, 2020, to March 10, 2022, 213,022 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (90.1%) and 119,368 people have already received the booster dose (50.5%).   

As of today, 6,679 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine (39.2%) and 1,759 already have complete vaccination (10.3%) of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
