Last 24 hours:  

325 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 112 on the island of São Miguel, 90 on the island of Terceira, 46 on the island of São Jorge,35 on the island of Faial, 22 on the island of Pico, 12 on the island of Flores, seven on the island of Santa Maria and one on the island of Graciosa, following 1,459 tests carried out.  

Municipalities:  

São Miguel Island - 62 in Ponta Delgada, 22 in Ribeira Grande, 10 in Vila Franca do Campo, nine in Lagoa, six in Nordeste and three in Povoação.  

Terceira Island - 48 in Angra do Heroísmo and 42 in Praia da Vitória. 

São Jorge Island – 33 in Velas and 13 in Calheta. 

Faial Island - 35 in Horta.   

Pico Island – 11 in Madalena and 11 in Lajes. 

Flores Island - eight in Lajes and four in Santa Cruz.  

Santa Maria Island - six in Vila Porto. 

Graciosa Island – a new case in Santa Cruz.  

Recoveries:  

A total of 357 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.  

Hospitalisations:  

As of today, there are 21 patients hospitalised, 13 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (two in intensive care), four at the Horta Hospital on the island of Faial and four at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island.   

Current situation:  

The archipelago currently registers 2,071 active positive cases: 948 on the island of São Miguel, 555 on the island of Terceira, 180 on the island of São Jorge, 175 on the island of Faial, 123 on the island of Pico, 36 on the island of Graciosa, 34 on the island of Flores, 19 on the island of Santa Maria and one on the island of Corvo.   

Vaccination:       

From December 31, 2020, to March 8, 2022, 215,952 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (89.9%) and 118,903 people have already received the booster dose (50.3%).  

As of today, 6,668 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 39.1% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
