169 new positive cases of Covid-19 were diagnosed, with 79 on the island of São Miguel, 42 on the island of Terceira, 24 on the island of Graciosa, 10 on the island of Pico, nine on the island of São Jorge, three on the island of Flores and two on the island of Faial, following 793 tests carried out.
Municipalities:
São Miguel Island- 53 in Ponta Delgada, 14 in Ribeira Grande, seven in Lagoa and five in Vila Franca do Campo.
Terceira Island - 32 in Angra do Heroísmo and 10 in Praia da Vitória.
Graciosa Island - 24 in Santa Cruz.
Pico Island – Five in Madalena, three in Lajes and two in São Roque.
São Jorge Island - Nine in Calheta.
Flores Island – Two in Santa Cruz and one in Lajes.
Faial Island - Two in Horta.
Recoveries:
A total of 732 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.
Deaths:
An 86-year-old woman died at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island, where she had been hospitalised since February 21. She was a resident of Lajes, municipality of Praia da Vitória, and was not vaccinated.
Hospitalisations: As of today, there are 34 patients hospitalised, 22 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (two in intensive care), seven at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island and five at the Horta Hospital.
Current situation: The archipelago currently registers 4,127 active positive cases: 2,756 on the island of São Miguel, 636 on the island of Terceira, 229 on the island of Pico, 176 on the island of Faial, 144 on the island of São Jorge, 135 on the island of Graciosa, 28 on the island of Flores, 13 on the island of Corvo and 10 on the island of Santa Maria.
Vaccination:
From December 31, 2020, to February 25, 2022, 210,383 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (89.0%) and 116,269 people have already received the booster dose (49.2%).
As of today, 6,551 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 38.5% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
