Last 24 hours:
556 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 210 on the island of São Miguel, 186 on the island of Terceira, 71 on the island of Pico, 50 on the island of Faial, 23 on the island of São Jorge, seven on the island of Flores, seven on the island of Santa Maria and two on the island of Graciosa, following 2,903 tests carried out.
On the island of Sao Miguel, 137 new positive cases were registered in Ponta Delgada, 43 in Ribeira Grande, 22 in Lagoa, four on Nordeste, three in Povoação and one in Vila Franca do Campo.
The island of Terceira registered 139 new cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 47 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.
On the island of Pico, 25 cases were diagnosed in the municipality of Madalena, 24 in the municipality of Lajes and 22 in the municipality of São Roque.
The island of Faial registered 50 new positive cases in the municipality of Horta.
On the island of São Jorge, 18 cases were registered in Velas and five in Calheta.
On the island of Flores, five new cases were registered in the municipality of Santa Cruz and two in the municipality of Lajes.
The island of Santa Maria registered seven new cases in Vila do Porto.
The island of Graciosa registered two new positive cases in the municipality of Santa Cruz.
Hospitalisations:
As of today, there are 41 patients hospitalised, 24 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (one in intensive care), 12 at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (two in intensive care) and five at the Horta Hospital (one in intensive care).
Recoveries:
A total of 1,793 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.
Death:
In the last 24 hours, an 88-year-old woman died at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island. He was a resident of Cabo da Praia, municipality of Praia da Vitória.
She had been hospitalised since February 7. She was not vaccinated.
Current situation:
The archipelago currently registers 7,552 active positive cases: 5,966 on the island of São Miguel, 910 on the island of Terceira, 190 on the island of Faial, 185 on the island of Pico, 150 on the island of Graciosa, 116 on the island of São Jorge, 22 on the island of Santa Maria and 13 on the island of Flores.
Vaccination:
From December 31, 2020, to February 19, 2022, 209,777 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (88.7%) and 111,786 people have already received the booster dose (47.3%).
As of today, 6,402 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 37.6% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
