Last 24 hours:    

660 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 420 on the island of São Miguel, 103 on the island of Terceira, 34 on the island of Faial, 32 on the island of Graciosa, 27 on the island of Pico, 26 on the island of São Jorge, 11 on the island of Santa Maria and seven on the island of Flores, following 2,888 tests carried out 

On the island of Sao Miguel, 261 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, 53 in the municipality of Lagoa, 46 in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, 36 in in the municipality of Povoação, 17 in the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo and seven in Nordeste.  

The island of Terceira registered 68 new cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 35 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.  

The island of Faial registered 34 new positive cases in the municipality of Horta. 

The island of Graciosa registered 32 new positive cases in the municipality of Santa Cruz. 

On the island of Pico, 14 cases were registered in the municipality of Lajes, 10 in the municipality of Madalena and three in the municipality of São Roque.  

On the island of São Jorge, 17 new cases were registered in the municipality of Velas and nine in the municipality of Calheta.   

The island of Santa Maria registered 11 new positive cases in the municipality of Vila do Porto. 

The island of Flores registered five new cases in the municipality of Lajes and two in the municipality of Santa Cruz. 

Hospitalisations:   

As of today, there are 29 patients hospitalised, 26 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (three in intensive care), 10 at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (two in intensive care) and three at the Horta Hospital (one in intensive care). 

Deaths:

In the last 24 hours, two deaths were registered in the archipelago, one on the island of São Miguel and another on the island of Terceira

A 72-year-old man, a resident of Santa Clara, died at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital in Ponta Delgada. The patient had been hospitalised since February 10.  He had been vaccinated with two doses but had multiple comorbidities.

A 99-year-old man, a resident of Ribeirinha, municipality of Angra do Heroísmo, died at the Santo Espírito de Hospital in Angra do Heroísmo. The patient had been hospitalised since February 2.  He was not vaccinated and had multiple comorbidities.

Recoveries:    

A total of 941 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.

Current situation:  

The archipelago currently registers 10,559 active positive cases: 8,637 on the island of São Miguel, 1,230 on the island of Terceira, 189 on the island of Faial, 148 on the island of Graciosa, 143 on the island of São Jorge, 141 on the island of Pico, 42 on the island of Santa Maria and 29 on the island of Flores.

Vaccination: 

From December 31, 2020, to February 15, 2022, 209,667 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (88.7%) and 110,833 people have already received the booster dose (46.9%).  

As of today, 6,363 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 37.4% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
