875 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 518 on the island of São Miguel, 216 on the island of Terceira, 46 on the island of São Jorge, 28 on the island of Faial, 26 on the island of Pico, 25 on the island of Graciosa, 12 on the island of Santa Maria and four on the island of Flores, following 3,574 tests.
On the island of Sao Miguel, 315 new positive cases were registered in Ponta Delgada, 76 in Ribeira Grande, 44 in Povoação, 43 in Lagoa, 22 in Nordeste and 18 in Vila Franca do Campo.
The island of Terceira registered 153 new cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 63 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.
On the island of São Jorge, 32 new cases were identified in the municipality of Velas and 14 in the municipality of Calheta.
The island of Faial registered 28 new positive cases in the municipality of Horta.
On the island of Pico, 14 cases were registered in the municipality of Madalena, seven in the municipality of Lajes and five in the municipality of São Roque.
The island of Graciosa registered 25 new positive cases in the municipality of Santa Cruz.
The island of Santa Maria registered 12 new positive cases in the municipality of Vila do Porto.
On the island of Flores, two new cases were registered in the municipality of Lajes and two in the municipality of Santa Cruz.
Hospitalisations:
As of today, there are 46 patients hospitalised, 33 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (five in intensive care), nine at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (two in intensive care) and four at the Horta Hospital (two in intensive care).
Recoveries:
A total of 1,358 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.
Current situation:
The archipelago currently registers 11,116 active positive cases: 9,172 on the island of São Miguel, 1,322 on the island of Terceira, 151 on the island of Pico, 149 on the island of Faial, 135 on the island of Graciosa, 111 on the island of São Jorge, 46 on the island of Santa Maria and 30 on the island of Flores.
Vaccination:
From December 31, 2020, to February 9, 2022, 209,306 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (88.5%) and 106,335 people have already received the booster dose (45.0%).
As of today, 6,216 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 36.5% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
