1,272 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 840 on the island of São Miguel, 275 on the island of Terceira, 40 on the island of Faial, 32 on the island of São Jorge, 30 on the island of Santa Maria, 28 on the island of Pico, 20 on the island of Graciosa and seven on the island of Flores, following 4,341 tests carried out.
On the island of São Miguel, 480 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, 131 in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, 84 in the municipality of Lagoa, 69 on the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo, 50 in the municipality of Povoação and 26 in the municipality of Nordeste.
The island of Terceira registered 187 new cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 88 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.
The island of Faial registered 40 new positive cases in the municipality of Horta.
On the island of São Jorge, 26 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Velas and six in the municipality of Calheta.
The island of Santa Maria registered 30 new positive cases in the municipality of Vila do Porto.
The island of Pico registered 10 new positive cases in the municipality of São Roque, nine in the municipality of Madalena and nine in the municipality of Lajes.
The island of Graciosa registered 20 new positive cases in the municipality of Santa Cruz.
On the island of Flores, five new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Santa Cruz and two in the municipality of Lajes.
Hospitalisations:
As of today, there are 68 patients hospitalised, 42 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (five in intensive care), 12 at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (two in intensive care) and four at the Horta Hospital (one in intensive care).
Recoveries:
A total of 1,076 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.
Current situation:
The archipelago currently registers 17,270 active positive cases: 14,143 on the island of São Miguel, 2,282 on the island of Terceira, 209 on the island of Faial, 191 on the island of Pico, 186 on the island of Graciosa, 152 on the island of São Jorge, 87 on the island of Santa Maria and 20 on the island of Flores.
From December 31, 2020, to February 8, 2022, 208,442 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (88.2%) and 98,392 people have already received the booster dose (41.6%).
As of today, 5,776 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 33.9% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
