Last 24 hours:

1,594 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 1,059 on the island of São Miguel, 346 on the island of Terceira, 57 on the island of Graciosa, 41 on the island of Pico, 38 on the island of Faial, 27 on the island of São Jorge, 15 on the island of Santa Maria and 11 on the island of Flores, following 4,979 tests carried out. 

On the island of São Miguel, 594 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, 202 in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, 96 in the municipality of Lagoa, 77 in the municipality of Povoação, 67 in the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo and 23 in the municipality of Nordeste. 

The island of Terceira registered 235 new positive cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 111 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.

On the island of Graciosa, 57 new cases were registered in the municipality of Santa Cruz.

The island of Pico registered 28 new positive cases in the municipality of Madalena, nine in the municipality of Lajes and four in the municipality of Madalena. 
The island of Faial registered 38 new positive cases in the municipality of Horta.

On the island of São Jorge, 22 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Velas and five in the municipality of Calheta. 

The island of Santa Maria registered 15 new cases.

On the island of Flores, seven new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Lajes and four in the municipality of Santa Cruz.

Hospitalisations:  

As of today, there are 56 patients hospitalised, 41 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (three in intensive care), 13 at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (two in intensive care) and two at the Horta Hospital (one in intensive care). 

Recoveries: 

A total of 909 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.   
 
Deaths: 

In the last 24 hours, three people died at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel, all from the municipality of Ribeira Grande: a 74-year-old man, resident in Rabo de Peixe, who had been hospitalised since January 26 and had received booster vaccination, an 81-year-old man, resident in Ribeirinha, who had been hospitalised since January 31, and a 96-year-old woman, resident in Ribeira Seca, who had been hospitalised since January 26 and had received booster vaccination.

Current situation: 

The archipelago currently registers 15,055 active positive cases: 11,761 on the island of São Miguel, 2,337 on the island of Terceira, 316 on the island of Faial, 240 on the island of Pico, 163 on the island of São Jorge, 153 on the island of Graciosa, 49 on the island of Santa Maria and 36 on the island of Flores.

From December 31, 2020, to February 2, 2022, 207,559 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (87.8%) and 89,061 people have already received the booster dose (37.7%).
