Last 24 hours:  

1,480 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 1,057 on the island of São Miguel, 79 on the island of Terceira, 65 on the island of Faial, 45 on the island of Pico, 13 on the island of São Jorge, 12 on the island of Flores, six on the island of Graciosa and three on the island of Santa Maria, following 3,457 tests carried out.    

On the island of São Miguel, 555 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, 295 in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, 109 in the municipality of Lagoa, 84 in the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo, seven in the municipality of Povoação and seven in the municipality of Nordeste.   

The island of Terceira registered 167 new cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 112 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.  
The island of Faial registered 65 new positive cases in the municipality of Horta.   

On the island of Pico, 34 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Madalena, seven in the municipality of Lajes and four in the municipality of São Roque.   

The island of São Jorge registered 13 new positive cases in the municipality of Velas.   

The island of Flores registered eight new positive cases in the municipality of Lajes and four in the municipality of Santa Cruz. 

On the island of Graciosa, there are six new positive cases in the municipality of Santa Cruz.  

On the island of Santa Maria, four new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Vila do Porto.  
 Hospitalisations:         

As of today, there are 53 patients hospitalised, 43 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (three in intensive care), seven at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (two in intensive care) and three at the Horta Hospital (one intensive care). 

Recoveries:  

A total of 479 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.     

Deaths:  

In the last 24 hours, two men died at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel, both residents in Água de Pau, municipality of Lagoa. One patient, aged 83, had been hospitalised since January 21 and was not vaccinated, whilst the other patient, aged 75, had been hospitalised since January 24 and had complete primary vaccination. 

Current situation:  

The archipelago currently registers 13,793 active positive cases, with 10,745 on the island of São Miguel, 2,112 on the island of Terceira, 345 on the island of Faial, 259 on the island of Pico, 164 on the island of São Jorge, 93 on the island of Graciosa, 52 on the island of Flores and 23 on the island of Santa Maria. 

From December 31, 2020, to January 28, 2022, 207,013 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (87.6%) and 85,506 people have already received the booster dose (36.2%).
