1,997 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 1,205 on the island of São Miguel, 586 on the island of Terceira, 57 on the island of São Jorge, 48 on the island of Faial, 43 on the island of Pico, 27 on the island of Santa Maria, 17 on the island of Graciosa and 14 on the island of Flores, following 5,179 tests carried out.
On the island of São Miguel, 469 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, 458 in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, 74 in the municipality of Lagoa, 72 in the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo, 67 in the municipality of Povoação and 65 in the municipality of Nordeste.
The island of Terceira registered 426 new cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 160 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.
The island of São Jorge registered 51 new positive cases in the municipality of Velas and six in the municipality of Calheta.
The island of Faial registered 48 new positive cases in the municipality of Horta.
On the island of Pico, 19 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Lajes, 18 in the municipality of Madalena and six in the municipality of São Roque.
On the island of Santa Maria, 27 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Vila do Porto.
On the island of Graciosa, there are 17 new cases in the municipality of Santa Cruz.
The island of Flores registered 10 new positive cases in the municipality of Santa Cruz and four in the municipality of Lajes.
Hospitalisations:
As of today, there are 55 patients hospitalised, 42 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (five in intensive care), 10 at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (one in intensive care) and three at the Horta Hospital (one intensive care).
Recoveries:
A total of 765 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.
Current situation:
The archipelago currently registers 10,434 active positive cases, with 7,548 on the island of São Miguel, 2,047 on the island of Terceira, 294 on the island of Faial, 284 on the island of Pico, 127 on the island of São Jorge, 53 on the island of Flores, 38 on the island of Graciosa and 43 on the island of Santa Maria.
From December 31, 2020, to January 26, 2022, 206,258 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (87.2%) and 80,567 people have already received the booster dose (34.1%).
