862 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 417 on the island of São Miguel, 328 on the island of Terceira, 43 on the island of Pico, 35 on the island of Faial, 17 on the island of Santa Maria, nine on the island of São Jorge, seven on the island of Flores and six on the island of Graciosa, following 4,788 tests carried out.
On the island of São Miguel, 191 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, 133 in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, 44 in the municipality of Vila Franca, 29 in the municipality of Nordeste, 18 in the municipality of Lagoa and two in the municipality of Povoação.
The island of Terceira registered 227 new positive cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 101 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.
The island of Pico registered 21 new positive cases in the municipality of São Roque, 16 in the municipality of Madalena and six in the municipality of Lajes.
The island of Faial registered 35 new cases in the municipality of Horta.
On the island of Santa Maria, there are 17 new cases in the municipality of Vila do Porto.
On the island of São Jorge, five new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Velas and four in the municipality of Calheta.
On the island of Flores, five new cases were registered in the municipality of Lajes and two in the municipality of Santa Cruz.
In turn, the island of Graciosa registered six positive cases in the municipality of Santa Cruz.
Hospitalisations:
As of today, there are 38 patients hospitalised, 27 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital in Ponta Delgada (three in intensive care), three at the Horta Hospital and eight at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (one in intensive care).
Recoveries:
A total of 445 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.
Current situation:
The archipelago currently registers 5,007 active positive cases: 3,409 on the island of São Miguel, 913 on the island of Terceira, 309 on the island of Pico, 232 on the island of Faial, 48 on the island of São Jorge, 36 on the island of Santa Maria, 36 on the island of Flores and six on the island of Graciosa.
From December 31, 2020, to January 19, 2020, 204,963 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (86.7%) and 70,530 people have already received the booster dose (30.7%).
