Last 24 hours:
1,082 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 655 on the island of São Miguel, 213 on the island of Terceira, 99 on the island of Pico, 73 on the island of Faial, 15 on the island of São Jorge, 14 on the island of Flores and 13 on the island of Santa Maria, following 4,942 tests carried out.
On the island of São Miguel, 280 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, 200 in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, 52 in the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo, 47 in the municipality of Lagoa, 39 in the municipality of Povoação and 37 in the municipality of Nordeste.
The island of Terceira registered 139 new cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 74 in the municipality of Praia da Vitória.
The island of Pico registered 34 new positive cases in the municipality of Lajes, 34 in the municipality of Madalena and 31 in the municipality of São Roque.
The island of Faial registered 73 new cases in the municipality of Horta.
The island of São Jorge registered 15 positive cases in the municipality of Velas.
On the island of Flores, seven new cases were registered in the municipality of Santa Cruz and seven in the municipality of Lajes.
The island of Santa Maria registered 13 new positive cases in the municipality of Vila do Porto.
Hospitalisations:
As of today, there are 41 patients hospitalised, 29 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (four in intensive care), 10 at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (one in intensive care) and two at the Horta Hospital (one in intensive care).
Recoveries:
A total of 375 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.
Death:
In the last 24 hours, a 95-year-old woman died from Covid-19 on the island of São Miguel. She resided in Arrifes, municipality of Ponta Delgada, and had been hospitalised since January 7. The patient was not vaccinated.
Current situation:
The archipelago currently registers 4,594 active positive cases: 3,223 on the island of São Miguel, 731 on the island of Terceira, 278 on the island of Pico, 238 on the island of Faial, 45 on the island of São Jorge, 43 on the island of Flores and 36 on the island of Santa Maria.
From December 31, 2020, to January 19, 2020, 204,963 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (86.7%) and 70,530 people have already received the booster dose (29,8%).
