66 new positive cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed, with 31 on the island of Terceira, 28 on the island of São Miguel, five on the island of Pico and two on the island of Graciosa, following 431 tests carried out.
The island of Terceira registers 16 new positive cases in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and 15 in the municipality of Praia da Vitoria.
On the island of São Miguel, 21 new positive cases were registered in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, four in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, two in the municipality of Lagoa and one in the municipality of Povoação.
The island of Pico has two new positive cases in the municipality of Lajes, two in the municipality of São Roque and one in the municipality of Madalena.
On the island of Graciosa, there are two new positive cases in the municipality of Santa Cruz.
Hospitalisations:
As of today, there are 12 patients hospitalised, all at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital in Ponta Delgada (two in Intensive Care Unit).
Recoveries:
A recovery has been registered in the last 24 hours.
Current situation:
The archipelago currently registers 797 positive active cases: 575 on the island of São Miguel, 117 on the island of Terceira, 37 on the island of Santa Maria, 26 on the island of Pico, 22 on the island of Graciosa, 14 on the island of Faial and six on the island of Flores.
From December 31, 2020 to December 22, 198,828 people have completed the primary vaccination (84 per cent) and 34,528 people have already received the vaccine booster (3nd dose).
