Last 24 hours:
25 new positive cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed, with 24 on the island of São Miguel and one on the island of Terceira, following 839 tests carried out.
On the island of São Miguel, there were 18 new positive cases in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, three in the municipality of Lagoa, two in the municipality of Ribeira Grande and one in the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo.
On the island of Terceira, one positive case was registered in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo.
Hospitalisations:
As of today, there are four patients hospitalised, three at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital in Ponta Delgada and one at the Santo Espírito Hospital in Angra do Heroísmo, none in intensive care.
Recoveries:
In the last 24 hours, 26 recoveries were registered.
Current situation:
The archipelago currently registers 284 positive active cases: 232 on the island of São Miguel, 40 on the island of Terceira, four on the island of Faial, three on the island of Pico, two on the island of Corvo, two on the island of Flores and one on the island of Santa Maria.
From December 31, 2020 to December 7, 175,830 people in the Azores have been vaccinated with the first dose (74,3 per cent) and 197,309 with complete vaccination (83,4 per cent), under the Regional Vaccination Plan. Up to this date, 18,244 people have received the vaccine reinforcement (3nd dose).
