The Regional Secretary for Health and Social Security, Mónica Seidi, highlighted today the positive evolution of Social Integration Income (RSI) indicators in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, emphasising the sustained downward trend in the number of beneficiaries.

According to the latest data, as of January 2026, the Azores registered a total of 2,373 RSI households and 5,354 beneficiaries, corresponding to an average monthly benefit of €317.20 per family and €113.07 per beneficiary.

Between December 2025 and January 2026, there was a reduction of 41households and 163 beneficiaries, confirming the downward trend of this indicator.

The year-on-year analysis also shows a very significant change. Comparing January 2025 with January 2026, there was a decrease of 1,277 beneficiaries, representing a decrease of 19.3%.

Mónica Seidi pointed out that these results reflect “the impact of public policies on social inclusion, employment promotion and family support,” reiterating the Regional Government’s commitment to continue working to reduce dependence on social benefits and promote family autonomy.

The Government of the Azores will continue to closely monitor these indicators and step up measures aimed at promoting social inclusion, employability and improved living conditions for the Azorean people.
