Interjovem Card holders with inter-island air travel for €21 during December - Communication

By Order of the Regional Secretary for Youth, Housing and Employment, Maria João Carreiro, holders of the Interjovem Card can benefit from inter-island air travel for €21 round trip or €15 one way, operated by SATA Air Açores.

These prices are valid for travel between December 1 and 31, as part of the Interjovem Card's special Christmas campaign, a month when "there is an increase in travel by young students returning to their home islands," noted the government official. 

“During this period, there is also a proliferation of initiatives related to the Christmas season on the different islands. In this regard, the improvement of the benefits offered by the Interjovem Card during this festive season contributes to greater mobility among young people between islands,” she added.

Maria João Carreiro explained that ‘the Interjovem Card gives young people more mobility," following the contract programme entered into between the Region, Atlânticoline S.A. and SATA Air Açores, which, among other advantages throughout the year, provides for the creation of specific and more advantageous commercial campaigns for young people.

The Interjovem Card is an initiative of the Regional Government to promote youth mobility in the archipelago, associated with commercial advantages and discounts. It is intended for young people who are natives or residents of the Azores, as well as young people of Azorean descent registered on the “Azoreans in the World” platform, aged between 13 and 30.

Since 2021, several improvements and benefits have been implemented to add value to the use and ownership of the Interjovem Card, such as a 20% discount on the Azores Fare. This means that young people pay a maximum of €48 for an inter-island flight ( round trip), with the same booking conditions as the Azores Fare being guaranteed for the Interjovem Fare.

The Interjovem Card can be purchased at https://www.cartaointerjovem.com or on the new mobile app, with payment made via MBWay or credit card via the RIAC payment platform.

Promoted by the Regional Directorate for Youth, the Interjovem Card has more than 100 partnerships across all islands of the archipelago, guaranteeing a minimum 10% discount on services provided by partners to cardholders.
