Public tender for allocation of housing in Ginetes on lease with purchase option scheme to open on October 1 - Communication

The public tender for the allocation of five new houses under a lease with purchase option scheme will open on October 1. The houses were built by the Region in the parish of Ginetes in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island, under the Recovery and Resilience Plan for the Azores, representing an investment of €945,000. 

According to the Order of the Regional Secretary for Youth, Housing and Employment, Maria João Carreiro, published today in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of the Azores, interested parties must submit their applications between  October 1 and November 14 of this year.

Applications must be submitted by completing the appropriate form, available on the Regional Directorate for Housing (DRH) website at https://portal.azores.gov.pt/web/drh/concursos. They should be accompanied by the documents listed in Article 7 of the Regulations on the Lease with Purchase Option Scheme and submitted in one of the following formats:

• DRH Services, located at Rua Dr. João Francisco de Sousa, no. 30, 9500-187 Ponta Delgada;
• RIAC - Integrated Citizen Support Network Offices;
• Registered post with acknowledgement of receipt to the Regional Housing Directorate, located at Rua Dr. João Francisco de Sousa, n.º 30, 9500-187 Ponta Delgada;
• DRH email address - [email protected].

The Regulations, which contain all the information about the procedures and conditions for accessing and allocating housing, are available for consultation on the DRH website.

The five new houses, all of them three-bedroom houses, are built on plots nos. 1, 2, 3, 6 and 9 of the Rua Antero de Moniz Viveiros neighbourhood in the parish of Ginetes. They are intended for the permanent residence of applicants and their families. The purchase option can only be exercised by the tenant one year after signing the lease agreement.

Any requests for clarification on the understanding and interpretation of the Regulations and the Order should be addressed to the president of the jury and submitted by the interested parties in writing to the DRH Services in Ponta Delgada and the corresponding services of the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing and Employment. Alternatively, they should be sent to the email address [email protected] no later than October 24, 2025.  Requests will be answered within a maximum of three working days from the date on which they are received.
