The Regional Secretary for Health and Social Security, Mónica Seidi, chaired the launch of the first phase of the SIGGA-CH IT application, which will simplify the scheduling of the first hospital speciality consultation, a breakthrough in the Regional Health Service funded under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).

"Today, we begin here, at the Santo Espírito Hospital, where we are, in Angra do Heroísmo, with the implementation of this platform, along with the Terceira Island Health Unit and the Graciosa Island Health Unit, from where the first referrals may be coming. Nevertheless, this project will include all of our hospitals and health units by the end of the year," she explained.

SIGAA-CH - Integrated Referral and Access Management System for the First Hospital Specialty Consultation works based on interoperability between the various systems of different health institutions in the Region. It will contribute to the digitisation of the health sector, simplifying and speeding up processes, with greater confidentiality and benefits for health users.

Likewise, the IT support system, SIGAA - Information System for Access Management, "will play a fundamental role as its comprehensive nature will result in a global vision of the waiting lists due to the interconnection of systems."

She added that "waiting lists will be subject to greater rigour, with uniform criteria, transparency, assessment of access times and monitoring of the dynamics between demand and response."

The Regional Secretary for Health concluded her speech offering words of appreciation to those who made this platform possible.

"This work, as always, was only possible with the commitment of our health professionals and everyone involved, which allows our Regional Health Service to continue to strive to improve the quality of care for our users," she emphasised.
