Regional Government approves another 2.7 million Euros in housing support - Communication

The Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing and Employment, through the Regional Directorate for House, has just approved another 2.7 million Euros in housing support.

The support now approved is aimed at the construction of housing under a self-build scheme, the purchase of housing and the refurbishment of housing, according to the orders published today in the Official Journal.

Regarding the self-build scheme, a total amount of 360 thousand Euros was approved.

This funding is intended to support the construction of a house from scratch, tailored to the beneficiary's household, on serviced plots provided by the Region or on a plot owned by the beneficiary, and to support expansion or remodelling works on a house owned by the beneficiary.

The funding approved includes a global amount of 148 thousand Euros for the purchase of housing, which will be allocated to individuals residing in the Azores.

Among the overall amount of support approved, 2.2 million Euros are intended to support the refurbishment of housing, in the form of reimbursable and non-reimbursable aid, which will be granted to individuals in households whose social and economic situation does not allow them to carry out the necessary interventions.

This support programme is aimed at individuals with ownership rights over the property under application, which has been used for the permanent dwelling of the applicant's household for at least one year.
